Getting ready:
On the day:
Are you ready?
- Have you formed a team to plan your Big Bang at School?
-
Teamwork makes everything easier!
We strongly recommend that you involve a few other members of staff so you build a support team around you. Bring in your school careers leads and department heads so they can support your ideas.
Ensure that you have cross department support on the day so you can run the event smoothly!
- Have you reached out for support?
-
There’s plenty of help to support your event, facilitate workshops and even help careers messaging. For example, STEM Learning have a fantastic ambassador platform that allows you to advertise an activity so you can get real STEM professionals in the classroom.
The Big Bang at Schools team can also help provide support and introduce you to our expert delivery partners within your area.
- Have you thought about what activities you’d like to have at your event?
-
This is one of the most exciting parts of your event! You can tailor it to exactly your students needs, skills and interests.
- You might want to keep the event small by having a carousel of workshops based on a particular theme
- Or, you could involve other departments in your celebration of STEM - this could include engaging your students with food technology, STEM in art and design, music or sports! You can get as creative as you like
- You could also host a show in as part of a bigger assembly experience with the whole school
We are happy to support you and have several editable workshops based on several themes you can use.
You can also sign up to Neon, to find out what outreach is available in your area.
